Originally born in Alabama and spending several years in Alabama, then Georgia, Dr. Matha A. Warren moved to Murfreesboro, TN where she attended Central Middle School and later graduated as valedictorian of Oakland High School. She did her undergraduate schoolwork at MTSU where she participated in Block and Bridle Club and the Horseman's Association and met her husband Frank Warren (currently a Physician Assistant for St. Thomas) "in a pig parlor" .
Dr. Matha A. Warrren received her DVM degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in June 1986. After a brief externship in Kentucky she returned to Tennessee to work in Smyrna. She opened her own practice for small and exotic animals in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in February 1990. Dr. Warren is a member of the TVMA (Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association), Rutherford County Veterinary Society, and National Federation of Independent Business. She and her husband own a cattle farm in Bradyville with several pet chickens and remain active in the Church in Smyrna where her passion is singing (passion, not talent). She enjoys reading and flower and herb gardening and has recently been making homemade bread (raisin bread is the current favorite).
